No matter what your status is, in my opinion, dogs make the best Valentine date over any human companion. It really is just that simple, and here is why.
Plenty of smooches.
Pucker up because a night in with your furry loved one will definitely get you covered in slobbery kisses. These are the best kind that no human could top, wouldn’t you say?
Best cuddle buddy ever.
Staying in, watching a movie, and getting snugged by a little furry face is way better than human cuddles. If my furry date were cuddled ‘just so’, it would probably take me hours to move so that I wouldn’t disturb him. I can’t say I’d do the same for a human cuddle buddy! They don’t have fur, so it really isn’t all their fault.
No matter what, they are always happy to see you.
Your day can be long, your mood can be dark, your attitude can be cloudy, but despite all these factors your dog will always put on a happy face when they see you. They don’t care what you look like or what kind of mood you’re in. They just want you, plain and simple, and will always be happy when they get their wish.

Dogs always welcome a deep conversation. They are the best listeners who are always up for a gab session. You can tell all your deepest, darkest secrets to your furry therapist and they won’t tell a soul. Or on the flip side, you don’t have to talk at all and can enjoy some quiet time with just the two of you.
The most loyal companion you will ever have.
This is probably the most important factor when it comes to choosing your dog over a human as a Valentine’s date. Their loyalty is unbreaking and their love is unconditional. They could be the only one who always has your back and you never have to question this with them.
Some humans can make some pretty good Valentine’s dates. However, I would still choose to celebrate a day dedicated to love with the one thing that seems to be made completely out of love: My dog.
