Dog Training - Good Dog!Michelle DiPardo is the owner of Downtown Dog Training, specializing in the urban canine. She received her training under one of the top dog trainers in Ontario in 2010 and completed an intensive 600-hour apprentice course. She has more than 300 hours experience training dogs in obedience, agility, Rally O, and for the show ring. She has also run a number of distraction, street skills, and heeling workshops.

Michelle’s training style is positive, reward-based and employs only humane methodology. The focus is on dogs living an urban lifestyle, and the unique set of challenges raising a dog in the city can present. Training takes place at your home, and is specifically tailored to you and your dog’s individual needs. Get the most out of your relationship with man’s best friend!

In addition, Michelle has been a dog-walker with Barks ‘n’ Purrs for almost two years and has experience with a number of different breeds, energy levels, and behavioural issues.

Michelle is fully bonded and insured, as well as Pet First Aid certified.

Sian Matthews

Dog Trainer and Behavioural Consultant

Want to go for a walk?Sian Matthews has worked with numerous trainers across the city, focusing on Puppy People for the last two years. She graduated with honors from a comprehensive course at Animal Behavioural College in 2009.

She serves two Toronto-based nonprofit groups. The first is Speaking of Dogs, where she does foster work as well as behavioural assessment and training. The second is Caring Canine, for whom she assesses the capabilities of palliative care dogs and doctor/teacher dogs.

Sian’s philosophy is based on force-free positive reinforcement that encompasses both luring and clicker training. She is experienced with dogs of all sizes and energy levels, keeping in mind that every four-legged friend is truly unique! You can opt for outdoor lessons and play groups, and she also provides in-home training to guide your household through the process. Sian brings a warm, lively and realistic approach to understanding the needs of you and your dog.

Outside of training, she has worked in dog daycare facilities for several years, and currently walks dogs for Barks ‘n’ Purrs. She is fully insured, bonded, and certified in Pet First Aid.
